Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Intense Storms
Nearly 25,000 residences in south-east Queensland woke up without power on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems impacted the area, producing strong winds reaching over 100 km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in particular locations. Weather authorities confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were working to restore electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victorian Climate Difficulties
Simultaneously, around one thousand households in Victoria also encountered energy failures after the metropolitan area saw its heaviest rainfall in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At one point on yesterday, in excess of twenty-eight thousand electricity consumers in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were expected to linger along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to pull in damp air against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk expected across various areas of both areas.
Medical Alert
Health officials cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the existing atmospheric conditions.
