Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising AoT Collaboration for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that breaks usual predictions, the game developer has unveiled an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter leads characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous changes echo through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with traveling into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden sect.
The mission focuses on "strange experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Places and Metamorphoses
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Rewards and Additional Features
Players who successfully complete the adventure will receive an special katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Unique arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Enigma." This lighthearted quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive techniques: Naoe introduces a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unresolved questions from the main storyline.
